Story
26.2 miles of London's finest tarmac awaits. In April, I'll be running the London Marathon and raising funds for Mind. I'll also be doing the Royal Parks Half in October as part of this running renaissance.
Mind is the charity closest to my heart, through several crises they have been there with compassionate support without judgement, and pathways that keep you believing in the light at the end of the tunnel.
I cannot thank them enough for this, but what I can do, is run a long way around London with a blue vest on, doing my absolute best to raise funds and awareness about the incredible work they do.
We all know that it's okay not to be okay now, but we need more than that. Mind lobbies for mental health reform at a national level which is necessary to help reduce the number of people suffering with mental health illness, advocating for people that might not be able to do so for themselves.
Economically this is a difficult time, so any contribution – however much – would be enormously appreciated. Bigger than any donation, this is a reminder to check in on the people in your life who you think might be vulnerable. Mental health challenges aren't always visible, but a message from a friend or family member could well be the difference.
In 2021 I started fundraising for Mind ahead of Ironman UK, but sadly suffered a torn rotator cuff which ended the journey. Some amazing folks donated to that already, rest assured I have rolled those donations over into here, please feel no obligation to donate again!
